BUSINESS EXPERIENCE Jacobo Ortiz Blanes is an experienced real estate executive and seasoned sales and marketing professional. He is the founder and President of Las Brisas Property Management, a full service commercial real estate firm located in Puerto Rico, with over five million square feet of office, industrial retail, and residential assets under management. Its clients include several well-known local financial institutions and state side investors. Las Brisas manages 800 tenants; and currently employs 70 full time employees dedicated to providing a superb experience to its tenants and adding value to its clients. Las Brisas offers a full suite of real estate services, including, Accounting & Reporting, Faciiities Management, Construction Management, and Consulting Services. It recently signed San Patricio Plaza and Village as an outsource for its facilities operation. Today, Las Brisas is the largest real estate services firm in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean, in terms of scale, scope and service offerings. In addition to managing Las Brisas. Mr. Ortiz Blanes has been the general partner of six real estate transactions valued over $150,000,000. Some of the most important include the redevelopment of El Monte Town Center Commercial District, a 464,000 square feet mixed use project with three buildings; the redevelopment of El Caribe Office Building in Condado, and the purchase of a 9-acre parcel of land, commonly known as “Sears" lot, which is the future site of a mixed-use development project.
BUSINESS BACKGROUND Prior to returning to PR in 2008, Mr. Ortiz-Blanes worked for 15 years with SC Johnson in Racine, Wisconsin, where he successfully managed major businesses in the United States and South America. He led the development of several major new products, including Glade Plug Ins Scented Oil ($300 million), still the company’s biggest launch to date. BUSINESS SKILLS Expertise in turning around troubled real estate assets by repositioning the asset to maximize net operating income. Strategy development, marketing, planning and execution, new product innovation management, and team development and coaching. OTHER Languages: Fluent in Spanish, English, and Portuguese.
